What inspired you to write your first book? I’ve been writing since the age of 8. I used to write short stories and plays then act them out with my friends. I love to tell stories and in 2007, I started writing a story about a detective, a lawyer and a young woman. Then, life took over and I stopped. I found the book again and finished it in 2014.
How much real life do you put into or influences your books? I think the only thing that is real is that I believe in love…true love, unconditional love. That is something that my characters always fight for.
What is the hardest part of writing for you? The hardest part of writing is finding the time to write without being interrupted.
What are your current projects? I have two non-fiction books I want to write and I am finishing the last book in The Broken Heart Series.
How do you go about choosing the title for your book(s)? I think about the main character and how it relates to them.
What is your favorite genre to write? Romance, Erotic so far. It’s the only thing I’ve written. J
Generally, how long does it take you to complete a book from idea to handing it over to your publisher? I’d say about 6 months to a year.
Do you ever use someone in your life as a sounding board for ideas or do you prefer to work alone? I prefer to work alone.
Do your travel to research for your book(s)? I had to do some research on how to write a police report.
Did you learn anything while writing your book(s)? yes. I can see the difference in the writing from book one to book 3. I’ve learned from having 15,000 punctuation, formatting and other errors in the first book. LOL!
Have you ever had an idea for a book but never written it and what is it? Well, the non-fiction books that are in my head are very close to my heart. But I won’t share right now. Don’t want to spoil it. J
When writing, do you have a process? No. Anytime I want to pick up where I left off usually works. I always have to reread the paragraph before to make sure the story continues to flow.
Do you have any advice for new authors looking to make their own literary statement? Put your heart into your writing and don’t worry about the sales. You definitely have to love what you do and you will succeed.
How many books have you written? Do you have a particular favorite? I’ve written three books. I love The Broken Heart series. It’s my baby.
Why did you choose to use a publisher instead of self-publishing? I didn’t use a publisher. I self-published my books.
Where do your ideas come from? I don’t know to be honest, it’s whatever is in my head at the moment.
How many books do you currently have published? 2 books.
Are you working on anything right now? The last book of The Broken Heart Series.
Do you have a favorite Hero or Heroine from any of your books and why? I love my main character. Even though she is naïve at times, she believes that love will conquer all and she’s right.
Do you have anything you would like to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read your work(s)?
Give The Broken Heart Series a try. You might be pleasantly surprise. The characters go through a lot and it’s interesting to see how her life changes in the process. It’s a little dark…but there’s always light at the end.
