Author Cory D Cyr

Cory D Cry 5 book banner FBI began writing music and poetry at an early age. My love of music became my sole focus, and I spent quite a few years as the lead singer for many local rock bands. In high school, I was fascinated with the macabre and started writing science fiction and horror stories so dark they earned me the nickname “Gory Cory.”
After years of writing dark tales, I never thought in a million years my first two finished manuscripts would be Adult Romance.
I am a devout vegan as well as an animal lover. I collect antique weapons and crosses(I still have that dark-side).
My books are ALL ADULT 18+ Bite & Release(My 1st book) was published 5/31/14

Business before Pleasure:

What inspired you to write your first book? : I had 37 unfinished manuscripts what inspired me to write and publish my first book was dealing with my mom’s impending death.

How much real life do you put into or influences your books? : My entire life has consisted of younger men so I had quite a bit of history and experience to go off.

What is the hardest part of writing for you? : I get bored or distracted. That’s why I try to write two books at the same time.

What are your current projects?: My secret project: Cover reveal Feb 13, Title & synopsis Feb 6 and release April. I have a cover reboot in July and another book in October. All in 2016.

How do you go about choosing the title for your book(s)? The title will normally hit me before the concept. Sometimes it’s after the fact. Reviving Haven was re-titled three times because someone kept stealing the title. (LOL)

What is your favorite genre to write?: I only write younger men/older women. Before 2013 it was dystopian, YA, and historical romance

Generally, how long does it take you to complete a book from idea to handing it over to your publisher?: I am the publisher(INDIE) so before it goes to editing about 2-3 months, depends on how long revisions take. That time does not include cover, format etc.

Do you ever use someone in your life as a sounding board for ideas or do you prefer to work alone? Not as a sounding board because I do a story board for that but I use a few as verbal betas: so I can hear how my dialogue flows

Do your travel to research for your book(s)? : I did for Acquiesce. I spent way too much time in Adult & porn shops.

Did you learn anything while writing your book(s)? not about the story but the editing process and flow.

Have you ever had an idea for a book but never written it and what is it? : Exactly why would I announce my creative genius writing idea? LOL

When writing, do you have a process? : I do WORD VOMIT. I spew out words/chapters all throughout the day and try not to edit them because that’s why we have revisions.

Do you have any advice for new authors looking to make their own literary statement?: If you are blocked. Just write. No idea: just write. As long as you pen at least 500 words a day of something it’s all good! Everyone’s process is different. No matter how long it takes you—it will still be an accomplishment versus the person who never picked up a pen.

How many books have you written? Do you have a particular favorite?: 37 unfinished and I have 5 currently finished. I love my latest: Rug Burns

Why did you choose to use a publisher instead of self-publishing? I SELF-PUBLISH

Where do your ideas come from? Dreams & general life. My head is jam packed with ideas. I’ll be dead before I can write them all down.

How many books do you currently have published? 5

Do you have a favorite Hero or Heroine from any of your books and why? I love Weezie from Rug Burns because she is a NO HOLDS BARRED kind of gal.

Do you have anything you would like to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read your work(s)? If you enjoy a younger man/older woman themed book. Also I believe in HEA. However, my books are adult with adult language and sex.

More About You ~ The Fun and the Naughty

Share one thing about yourself that would surprise people who know you. I used to weight over 350 lbs.

Doggy style, cow girl or missionary?: Swinging from the rafters.

What secret sinful pleasure do you keep hidden in your cupboards? There’s only food out there all the good stuff is next to my bed.

Are you a wine or beer kinda gal? Neither: gross!
